Thanks to help from geeks and nerds around the globe and internet projects like
Kickstarter we can now enjoy this cool card game. In fact, creator Harry Mylonadis built the game especially for the geek market!
CPU Wars is the latest addition to the trump card game family. The twist? This game isn't about cars or planes, it features CPUs!
For the past 40 years, chip manufacturers have been manufacturing CPUs, so you'll probably recognize a few you've used in your old computers over the years, and with comments below the pictures, there's a whole lot of nostalgia to enjoy!
If you played various trump card games in your childhood, you can of course skip the following instructions:
-Shuffle the deck and deal all the cards out equally, face down. Each player holds their cards in a pile, so only their top card is visible.
Decide who goes first (e.g. with a game of <a href="http://www.getdigital.de/products/Stein_Schere_Papier_Spock_Echse/lng/en">Rock, Scissors, Paper, Spock, Lizard</a>).
-The first player picks a category they think has the best value and reads it out loud (e.g. 'Introduction Year'). Each player then reads out their card's corresponding value. The one with the best value wins the cards from that round and places them at the bottom of their pile. The winning player then chooses a category.
-The arrow in front of the category shows you if it's the lowest or highest value that wins.
-If two or more cards share the same value, all cards are placed in the middle. The same player then picks a category from their next card. The winner of this hand also gets the cards in the middle.
-The person who finally gets all the cards is the winner!
-Just like the other classic trump card games, no detailed knowledge of the subject, in this case CPUs, is required. Just sit down with one or with a group of friends, add some drinks and snacks, play CPU Wars and enjoy. A perfect recipe for a fun evening :).
