Fortunately for you, Rambo does not write the descriptions for our shop. Otherwise, you'd only read "What's that? ─ A Plankton Aquarium. What does it do? ─ It turns blue." on this page. While this might be true, it would sell the fascinating biochemical phenomenon that's happening inside this little dinosaur short.
In this aquarium that's shaped like dinosaur, you can keep real dinoflagellates that start glowing blue due to bioluminescence if you gently move the aquarium. It's crazy what evolution had up its sleeve! To get started, you only need to use the included code to order a fresh batch of flagellates and food for them from the manufacturer for free. (Attention: Shipping to Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands is free. Shipment to any other countries will add additional shipping costs.)Parcels are shipped from Glasgow and usually take about 3 days to arrive within Europe.
Please note: You'll need to feed your plankton on a regular basis. And "move gently" means exactly that. Don't shake the aquarium like a cocktail shaker. ;)
Please note: The flagellates are able to reproduce almost infinitely, given you take care of them. To make sure they are happy, you should expose them to 8-14 hours of moderate sunlight per day and keep the room temperature between 17 and 25 degrees Celsius. The little buggers consume about 50 ml of nutrient solution per week, so one bag will last about a month.
