The main assumption of the computer and network security principle "security by obscurity" is that a system cannot be compromised if nobody on the outside knows how the system works. It goes without saying that this only applies as long as the information is actually kept secret. And once this layer of security has been breached, the system is completely vulnerable unless other security measures are in place. This explains why security by obscurity isn’t as popular nowadays.
But as the Security by Obscurity T-Shirt shows, the principle can still (temporarily) work and even be good for a few laughs in the right circles :). The name of the principle is hidden within a Lorem Ipsum text, a nonsensical text that’s usually used as a placeholder for testing purposes.
