How we loved you when you were our go-to portable, long-term memory solution. We shared so many happy years…!
Not that we've forgotten how incredibly sensitive and demanding you could be! And in exchange for barely 1.5 MB of storage, too! But still, we lovingly protected you from dust, dirt, heat, cold, moisture… oh, and accidental bending, of course. And ideally (if we had cats or kids around) we stored you in a little box of your own…!
We willingly loved you and looked after you, not how some of us treat our USB flash drives or CDs & DVDs today!
The days of the floppy disk being the data storage of choice are now long over, but still it lives on in the universally acknowledged icon of 'saving'.
