Our Fair Geekwear Promise

All of our motifs marked with the Fair Geek Wear logo are printed on shirts that are made from fairly traded organic cotton and under fair working conditions.

This means that when you buy, you are doing something good for the environment, the cotton farmers and factory workers (spinners, weavers, seamstresses) and their families, as well as yourself. :)

• The T-shirts are made from organic cotton produced in India, which is controlled and certified according to GOTS. The GOTS seal identifies organically produced textiles made from natural fibers and corresponds to the world's leading standard.
• The production of cotton uses a lot of water, 20,000 liters for one kilogram. Therefore, the plantations and factories are only located in areas where 95% of the water requirements can be met by monsoon rains.
• Pesticides are not used when growing the cotton. The colors used are also free of harmful chemicals. Additives such as toxic heavy metals, problematic aromas in solvents and genetically modified organisms are prohibited.

• No child labor: There are increased controls to ensure that no children work in the factories.
• Fair working conditions: Every worker is paid a minimum wage that is high enough to cover the living expenses of a family without the children having to also earn money. The maximum working time per day is eight hours with a maximum of 6 working days per week.
• Fair social benefits: Every worker is entitled to pension payments, social security, continued payment of wages and severance payments.
  Of course, safety and hygiene in the workplace is also guaranteed, for example chemicals that are harmful to workers are prohibited.
