Anyone who has played Counterstrike, Call of Duty or Battlefield knows that this exclamation subtly indicates an impending, preferably self-induced explosion.
In Minecraft it's a bit different, there you shout
Creeper in the Hole!
Usually in vain, because before you can finish the sentence, you are usually lying dead in a large crater ;)
Well, you should be careful of Creepers... and better stay in a brightly lit house with torches at night ;)
