Many have long since realised it: Floppy disks are simply no longer an adequate storage medium. They are very fragile and simply don’t offer enough space for today's data volumes. As early as 1994, it took over 30 disks to install a Microsoft Office package.
Nevertheless, decades after the introduction of the USB stick, our hearts are still attached to the floppy disk. After all, it still haunts our everyday working lives as a symbol for stored data.
